Duration: 3 hours
This three-hour workshop invites educators to explore the evolving and multifaceted role of the teacher within Reggio Emilia–inspired environments.
Grounded in the philosophies of Loris Malaguzzi, Carlina Rinaldi, Vea Vecchi, Lella Gandini, Louise Cadwell, and Peter Moss, and aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework (ELF), the workshop examines how educators act as researchers, listeners, collaborators, and reflective leaders in co-constructing knowledge with children.
Through reflective dialogue, hands-on activities, and engagement with key readings, participants will consider how their daily practices, documentation, and relationships contribute to a living pedagogical culture of democracy, care, and curiosity. The workshop invites educators to see themselves not as implementers of curriculum but as co-authors of learning—nurturing spaces where children’s voices, ideas, and identities shape the life of the classroom.
