Duration: 1 hour
Loose parts offer children an open landscape of possibility—materials without predetermined roles that invite experimentation, imagination, collaboration, and deep thinking.
Rooted in the BC Early Learning Framework and supported by leading voices in early learning, this workshop explores how children think with materials, how creativity emerges through material encounters, and how educators play a powerful but quiet role in shaping the conditions that allow loose parts play to flourish. Through three modules, educators will reflect on materiality, children’s agency, creativity, and the relational presence required to support rich, meaningful loose parts play.
