Duration: 1 hour
Risky play is an essential part of children’s growth, offering opportunities to build confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, and physical competence.
This workshop explores the developmental value of risky play, the educator’s relational role in supporting it, and how co regulation and trust shape the emotional safety children need to engage meaningfully with challenge. Grounded in the BC Early Learning Framework and supported by leading researchers in the field, this workshop invites educators to reimagine risk not as something to avoid, but as a vital dimension of early learning.
