Duration: 3 hours
Challenging behaviors in children aged 3 to 5 are often viewed through a disciplinary lens. However, these behaviors are best understood as expressions of unmet needs, emotional stress, or developmental growing pains. This workshop aims to shift the perspective from control to connection by offering early childhood educators a comprehensive understanding of why challenging behaviors occurs and how to respond with empathy, structure, and intentional care.
Aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework (BC ELF), this three-hour self- paced workshop integrates theory and practice, reflective prompts, real-life scenarios, and applied strategies. The tone is both academic and warmly practical, offering tools that educators can use immediately while also encouraging deeper thinking about the role of the adult in shaping children’s behavior.
