Duration: 1 hour
This workshop explores how transitions can become emotionally supportive and relational moments in a child’s day.
Using a developmental lens, educators will examine how cognitive, sensory, and emotional systems interact during moments of change. Grounded in the BC Early Learning Framework and research from ZERO TO THREE, Stuart Shanker, the Harvard Center on the Developing Child, and Early Years scholars, the session highlights the role of co-regulation, emotional pacing, and responsive routines. Through scenarios, reflection, and practical strategies, participants learn how playful, relational approaches can create smoother, more attuned transitions that honor children’s rhythms and sense of belonging.
